Yamaha r3 flash ecu nyc4/24/2024 ![]() ![]() So at this point my verdict was, a slight improvement on smoothness (unless it was all in my head), but no difference in top speed or lap times. Then again this is an R3, you can hammer on the throttle without upsetting the bike much, so smoothness is not as critical as on other bigger bikes. It did SEEM to be a bit smoother on the throttle response, but only slightly noticeablea and only at lower RPMs. I looked at the lap times and data from my GPS data logger and there was no difference in either lap times or top speed on the straightaways. ![]() I ran the next few races with this new setup, but the ECU and filter changes were the only things I changed. After that, I swapped ECUs and also replaced the air filter with an MWR one, because I saw multiple reports of people saying the MWR gives a bit more power on the R3s and was shown by dyno runs. Full M4 exhaust, K&N air filter, PCV with some generic map on it. I was at Carolina Motorsports Park last weekend racing with CCS and I ran the practice sessions and the first 2 races with the bike "as is", with the stock ECU. I'll reserve judgement until I get it on a dyno and do some comparisons, because numbers and plots don't lie, but as of right now, to me it didn't seem like it made any difference. Life's been pretty busy and hectic since then so I only got a chance to try it out last weekend. I got the ECU from Jesse over 2 months ago but unfortunately I had missed my window then of being able to do a back-to-back test on a dyno. I was going to wait to make a post on this until I get the bike on a dyno.
